About The Sliphorn Society

We are the most unique swing band in Washington State.

Formed in 2018 in the south sound area, the Sliphorn Society strives to promote big band style music from the 1930’s and 40’s written specifically for six trombones, guitar, bass, piano, drums and vocalist .

In 2021, the Sliphorn Society started the Pacific Northwest Trombone Symposium held every year at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma to promote the trombone. A registered 501c3 non-profit, we bring in clinicians and vendors to give talks, master classes and demonstrations and it is always free to students to attend ( just show your current school i.d. to get in ) For more information, go to our website PNW Trombone Symposium or follow us on facebook or Instagram.

The Sliphorn Society can also be seen occasionally with its larger ensemble performing the National Anthem at sporting events.
